We came in to this round knowing we needed to win the last 2 matches and hope for other results to fall our way to make the semis.

Botany won the toss and chose to bat, with a hot day and 2 short in the field we were looking at a long day ahead.

Moe was struck down with a recurring leg injury after bowling the first over and Sam came on to bowl with Jim.

We were off to a steady start taking regular wickets with Sam bagging the first three before Moe came back on for a couple and got a wicket with Sam taking a screamer at cover.

Moe's brothers came to watch and we were able to use them as subs which saved us a few runs and gave Jim a well deserved wicket with one of them taking a good catch.

Hunty and Mushy then brought the spin attack with both bowling well and Mushy striking in his 2nd over.

Dipn came on last with some leggies and wrapped up the tail bagging 3 wickets.

Having bowled them out we faced an awkward 40mins til stumps, Dipn and Simco went out and a double strike in the 4th over had Simco and Mushy out and we were 2/3.

Dipn faced the hat-trick ball 2 overs later and took 15 from the over to spoil the bowlers figures.

Jase was looking good but got one that jagged back off the newly grassed wicket to take the stumps and with only 10 mins left Dipn soon followed with a ball down legside hitting the back of the bat and ballooning to 1st slip.

Cam and Sam took us to stumps and at 4/37 the game was truly in the balance.

Second week and Cam and Sam applied calm heads to the situation and batted us to 79 before Cam edged behind.

A Sag was not to be had this day though as Jim and Tim both batted sensibly and formed long partnerships to support Sam who was gunning away at the other end continuing his fantastic season with the willow.

Many a stressful delivery was endured on the sidelines as Hunty and then Moe valiantly toiled to see us through to victory as Sam brought up his hundred en-route to yet another match winning six to seal the win with two wickets in hand.

A fantastic win, where the middle and lower order showed tremendous calm under pressure to keep the score ticking along and chase down a decent total.

Now we wait on the other game results!
